Gypsy Cobs

Welcome to FeatherWood Farm's website. We are a small farm located in the Mid-west raising Gypsy Cobs. This magical breed, also known as Irish Cobs, Gypsy horses, has captured our hearts and dreams. Their gentle willing hearts make them ideal for most equine activities.

The Gypsy's are making their way to America. If you have had a chance to attend any of the Equine Affaire shows in the states and happen upon the breed demonstration of the Gypsy Cobs and/or the blood related Drum Horses you have experienced the majestic and beauty of this breed. Though new to the states this breed has been bred by the Gypsies in Europe and Ireland over the centuries. The Gypsies take pride in these usually flashy colored, heavy boned and heavy feathered equines. Please note that the solid colored Gypsy horses are just as popular.
These horses are currently used for hunting and show over "the Pond". Here in the states owners are using them from pulling carts and wagons, which they were bred for, to riding pleasure, show, both english and western, and trail riding.
Welcome to our farm and come meet the family.
